HISTORY

Over decades and four generations the Mexican rooted Garcia-Alvarez family has built up substantial assets mainly consisting of large areas of arable land in Latin America, primarily in Bolivia and Peru. As early as in the late 70’s the structural fundaments of IXE’s current business were laid when the family’s activities expanded into the fields of agribusiness and mining in various South American countries.

Out of its Zurich headquarters established in 2006 IXE Group has been operation as a diversified and business group in physical commodities with an emphasis to add scale and internationalize the business mainly into Asia and Africa. The main objective is to deepen the value chains and to combine production, trading and financing activities under one roof.
